Let’s hear it for our newest swimmer to earn a HAST KIDs shoutout this season!!

Sadie Cabanas earned a shoutout for being such a great leader and listener in her lane during practice. Her listening skills are wonderful while coaches are speaking and she leads by setting a great example for her teammates.

Congrats and keep up the great work, Sadie!!

HAST KIDs is a reward that we have created to recognize kindness, positive interactions between athletes, and to praise positive interpersonal sk1lls. As a team our mission 1s to build technical skills in swimming; to build skills for competition, promoting good sportsmanship; and to build skills for life, encouraging cooperation and team spirit among members. We feel that it is important to recognize our athletes for their successes both in and out of the water by encouraging them in their technique but also in their positive interactions with other athletes. As we watch your athletes interacting with each other, we want to commend them for the positivity that they show.

HAST KIDs are Helpful, Altruistic, Sincere, Thoughtful, Kind, Inclusive and Decent. They treat their teammates and competitors with respect and compassion. As we coach the swimmers throughout the week we will be looking for examples of this type of behavior. We will then present the with a Shoutout certificate that recognizes their actions and take their photo with the certificate to be featured on our Facebook and Instagram page.

Helpful – giving or ready to give help
Altruistic – showing a selfless concern for the well-being of others
Sincere – acting in a genuine nature
Thoughtful – showing consideration for the needs of others
Kind – having or showing a friendly, generous, and considerate nature
Inclusive – creating space for everyone
Decent – being honorable and appropriate in a course of action even if it might not be in your own best interest
